KARACHI: The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chapter amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has termed the forced closure of markets, trade centers, educational institutions, petrol pumps and CNG stations a cruelty with Karachiites.
Condemning the forced closure of business and hampering routine activities in the city, Hafiz Naeem said that the entire city and its citizens have been held hostage; however; the government is playing the role of silent spectator.
Why the people of Karachi have been suffering from agony for the fault not on their part, he asked. He said that it is a crime to close down entire city on gun-point and it is creating problems for the people of Karachi.
He further demanded the government to take strict action against those who are involved in arson and terrorist incidents and forceful closure of petrol pumps, business centers and CNG stations, which is also causing a colossal loss to the national exchequer.
