KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) President appointed Director Harvest Tradings, Ahmad Jawad as the Chairman of FPCCI’s standing committee on Horticulture, Agriculture produce and Food Exports.
Jawad brings his vast experience in horticulture exports – having served as Manager Pakistan in danishknowhow and Export portfolio in Islamabad Chamber of Commerce. He has also been affiliated with multinational banks at abroad.
His appointment is reflective of the confidence reposed in him by the President FPCCI and the private sector of Pakistan.
When contacted Jawad, he said Pakistan have a numerous potential in the agri sector, especially in horticulture. The world horticulture market is valued at $ 80 billion to which Pakistan contributes only a meager amount which is unfortunate.
“Being a Chairman, Standing Committee FPCCI, I will forward my different recommendation and plan of action to the FPCCI President and the government departments to treat this industry as industry and provide infrastructure, especially in value addition so that post-harvest losses may curtail and farmers of this country may get good rates of their respective yields.
I believe agri sector of Pakistan have capability to turn around the economic indicators of the country” he remarked.
