Karachi: Helped by lethal bowling from pacer Mohammad Adeel and solid batting by Ehtisham, Gadaf West Area floored New Karachi Area in the final of Chevron Inter-Area Cricket Tournament held here at TCF School in Taiser Town here on Thursday.
Hundreds of school children participated in a regional cricket tournament featuring schools run by The Citizens Foundation (TCF) and supported by Chevron Pakistan Lubricants (CPLPL).
In the end, Gadap West Area proved too good for New Karachi Area in the final which they won it on the back of brilliant performances from the likes of M. Adeel and Ehtisham.
On the sidelines of the Inter-Area cricket tournament, students from the primary sections featured in a fun-filled sports gala.
Mohammad Najam Shamsuddin, Country Chairman CPLPL, was the chief guest for the occasion and Chevron employees volunteered to help with the various activities at the event.
The primary school children thoroughly enjoyed the fun-filled activities which included a jumping castle, face painting and races. At the adjoining field, more than 500 high school students viewed and spiritedly cheered their peers in the five teams playing twenty-over matches in the regional cricket tournament.
The prize distribution ceremony followed the final match, after which Shamsuddin addressed the audience. He congratulated the winners and thanked the TCF management and staff for hosting such a well-organized event.

Chevron has been an active supporter of TCF schools for many years, playing a vital role in promoting the cause of quality education for underprivileged children in Pakistan.
Recently, the partnership was further strengthened when Chevron Pakistan Lubricants (CPLPL) signed an agreement with The Citizens Foundation to fully support a TCF school in Khanewal, Punjab and also donated a computer laboratory to a TCF school in Jhang, Punjab.
