KARACHI: Provincial Health Department has instructed the heads of public hospitals to establish ‘Gastro Wards’ in their respective healthcare institutions in order to ensure best available treatment facilities to diarrhea and gastro patients in the peak season of these diaseas.
Health Secretary Sindh Saeed Ahmed Mangnejo directed the medical superintendents and directors of public hospitals to establish Gastro Wards in the healthcares as gastro and diarrhea cases have been significantly increasing in the Sindh province with rise in temperature. The patients will be provided best available treatment facilities in these wards, free of cost.
Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz has applauded the step taken by provincial secretary health about the establishment of Gastro Wards in the public hospitals. He said trained doctors, nurses and paramedical staff will be deployed in these wards to facilitate the patients.
