KARACHI: Graduation ceremony of No 66 flight safety officer course was held at Institute of Air Safety, PAF Base Masroor here on Friday. Air Vice Marshal Azhar Hasan Rizvi, Air Officer Commanding, Southern Air Command, PAF was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest, while addressing the course participants emphasized upon the importance of safety in every aspect of the aviation industry.
He highlighted the significance of flight safety officers in prevention of aircraft accidents. The chief guest awarded certificates to the graduating officers and gave away the chief of the air staff best graduate’s trophy to flight lieutenant Muhammad Adeel Akram for overall best performance in the course.
Moreover, trophy for best group research paper was given to Lt Col Khalid Hassan Babiker Mhomed, Captain Waqas Haider Lodhi and Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Imran Sukhaira.
The course comprised officers from Pakistan armed forces, including allied officers from friendly countries (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka). To mark the completion of 30 years of excellence, a history corridor is established to acknowledge all the IAS contributors towards the safer skies of Pakistan.
Air Vice Marshal inaugurated the history corridor and appreciated the efforts put in by the Institute in imparting quality education and blending theory with practice.
Earlier, The chief guest was received by officer commanding Institute of Air Safety Air Commodore Noor Elahi Bajwa. Air Commodore Bajwa briefed the distinguished guests about the course contents and various activities conducted during the course of training.
