Green-shirts open Azlan Shah Cup campaign with 3-1 win against Canada

Karachi: Pakistan hockey team recorded a convincing 3-1 triumph against Canada in their opening Sultan Azlan Shah Cup here on Wednesday in Ipoh, Malaysia.

Mohammad Qadir scored two goals to put Pakistan 2-0 up before Richard Holdreth reduced the deficit to make it 2-1. Mohammad Tousiq converted a penalty corner and gave Pakistan a 3-1 lead, which the maintained till the referee blew the final whistle.

Apart from host Malaysia and Pakistan, Australia, Japan, India, New Zealand, and Canada are participating in the tournament.
