Group of fake currency distributers held


KARACHI: ASP Freer Hall Shehla Qureshi on Sunday claimed to have arrested a group of fake currency distributers and recovered tools of making currency.

Addressing a press conference in her office, she said that on a tip-off, police conducted a targeted raid in Cantt Station area and apprehended leader of fake currency distributers group Ali Muhammad Malkani with his two accomplices Abdur Rehman, son of Salamat Ali, and Sajid, son of Ghulam Haider.

Qureshi said that they used double money trick to make fool innocent people in Karachi and different areas of Punjab. She said that recently, a man in Karachi had sold his hotel and gave them Rs 2700,000 for doubling money.

ASP said that fake currency, chemicals, currency making plates and other tools were also recovered from arrested men.

She said that DIG South Zone Abdul Khaliq Sheikh has announced appreciation certificates and cash rewards for officials who accomplished this successful task.
