Health dept seeks probe report of dubious appointments, promotions


Karachi: The Health Department Sindh has issued reminder notice to seek progress on enquiry report regarding appointment and promotion of about 66 paramedical staff for the years 2010 to 2013 against violation of rules in Singh Government Services Hospital Karachi.

The reminder notice was issued to two committee members including Provincial Coordinator, National Programme for Family Health Primary Care Sindh Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti and Sr. Medical Officer Presently Posted as Section Officer Health Department Government of Sindh Dr Eijaz Ali Khanzada.

The notification issued on 21st April 2014, remaindering to Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti and Dr Aijaz Ali Khanzada with subject Enquiry Report referred to health department’s notification dated 4th December 2013 about a committee meeting regarding appointment and promotion of paramedical staff for the years 2010 to 2013 in Sindh Government Services Hospital Karachi. Both members were once again requested to kindly inform the health department about progress of the probe.

Earlier, Health Department Sindh had constituted a committee comprising Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti and Dr Aijaz Khanzada on 4th December 2013 regarding appointment and promotion of paramedical staff for the years, 2010 to 2013 in Sindh Government Services Hospital Karachi to access the transparency/violation of rules.

The committee members have to check violation of rural & urban quota, to check appointment in violation of recruitment rules, the check appointment made in excess of vacancies or reserved quota and the check all relevant document. The committee has to complete their enquiry process within thirty days and submit their recommendations to the Health Secretary Sindh Karachi well in time.

Provincial Coordinator, National Programme for Family Health Primary Care Sindh Dr Roshan Ali Bhatti, when contacted, said: “I have not received any notification from health department Sindh about inclusion of my name a enquiry committee member so far.”

To a question regarding the second reminder notification, he said: “I have been busy in lady health workers salaries’ process for last four days and will go office on Monday to check my mail and then will in position to tell about any reminder notification served by Health Department Sindh.
