KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Hyder Jamli on Monday directed officers to take indiscriminatory action against drug and gambling dens and their harbourers. He instructed officers concerned to keep an eye on flow of traffic in the province so as to stop criminals who may use public transport and other vehicles to enter Sindh province before Eid-ul-Fitre .
He said while presiding over a high-level meeting held at CPO office in Karachi. The meeting reviewed the Sind police’s achievements in different targeted operations carried out against criminals till today. It was also attended by AIGP Counter Terrorism Department Sanaullah Abbasi, AIGP Operations Sindh Mohammad Naeem Sheikh, DIG Headquarters Abdul Aleem Jafri, and AIGP Logistics Faisal Baseer Memon while some other DIGs participated in the meeting through video conference.
Jamali further directed to tighten search and target operations against criminals in collaboration with other national spy intelligence agencies. He directed officers to protect the property and lives of public at any cost. He said the sale of Iranian petrol, use and sale of drugs, gambling and other social evils should be stopped forthwith.
He warned that the legal and departmental action would be taken against negligent officers for causing any delaying in compliance with orders.
