KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Iqbal Mehmood on Sunday directed DIGs to ensure extraordinary security and traffic measures on the eve of Shab-e-Baraat. He said at police station level, legal action should be taken against people involved in manufacturing and selling fireworks on Shab-e-Baraat.
IGP also said that extraordinary security measures at main graveyards, shrines, mosques, imambargahs and madaris should be provided. He instructed traffic police to devise proper plan for parking areas at graveyard besides arranging alternate routes for visitors of graveyard.
IGP said that all graveyards should be cleared pertaining to security risks before the start of this holy night and also ensure presence of Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) at police station level.
