IGP orders strict security for polio teams

KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali on Tuesday visited different areas of Karachi, including Nazimabad, Papsoh Nagar and Manghopir, and reviewed security measures for polio campaign and also issued further important instructions.

Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo; DIGs of East, West and South Zones and other senior officers were also present. Squad of police comprising officers and soldiers held flag march on the occasion.

IGP Sindh said that the implementation of section 144 should be ensured in the city besides conducting snap checking, patrolling, picketing and advance intelligence collection measures.

He further directed to ensure checking on entry and exit points of the city and said that checking process be made more extraordinary.

Jamali instructed all district SSPs to monitor the polio drop teams security himself and bound relevant SHOs for mutual corporation so that polio team volunteers could ensure door to door polio vaccinations with peace.
