IGP seeks foolproof security plan for Ramazan
KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh AD Khowaja on Sunday directed top police officials to monitor all mosques, imambargah and other sensitive places and form a security plan at police range and district level in Sindh province for Ramazan.
He said foolproof security should also be provided for taraweeh prayers. Every possible measure should be made to protect the people and their proprieties. He asked officials to ensure holding meetings and consultations with Pakistan Rangers and other law enforcement agencies before forming the security plan.
He stressed the need to pay due attention to area-wise crime analysis and then form a foolproof security plan for Ramazan as soon as possible so that security arrangements could also be made for three decades, specially on Youm-e-Ali and Shab-e-Qadar.
Khawaja directed the officials to assign special responsibilities to the police commandos for three decades of the holy month. The monitoring of taraveeh places should be carried out in the supervision of Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents, besides ensuring technical sweeping, clearance, advance intelligence collection and sharing, random snap checking, and patrolling.
He also said that the important government and private offices and buildings, consulate offices, minority worship places and their residential areas including all sensitive places be covered in the security plan.
