Initial work done to register health facilities
KARACHI: Sindh Health Care Commission (SHCC) in collaboration with Health Department Sindh has completed initial homework to register healthcare facilities of Karachi.
Director Health Services Karachi Dr Tahir Aziz Sehikh while talking to PPI, said a high level meeting Sindh Health Care Commission and Health Services Karachi was held in Karachi where District Health Officers, Town Health Officers, representatives of Lady Health Workers and SHCC devised strategy to register the healthcare facilities of the megacity.
He said after detailed discussion the health department Sindh and Sindh Health Care Commission completed the initial work to register private hospitals, clinics, laboratories, maternity homes, homeopathic clinics, herbalists and other facilities. He said DHOs and THOs will assist the SHCC teams in registration process throughout the city.
Dr Sheikh said some DHOs, and THOs have expressed reservations on overall registration procedure and demanded their proper role in it. He said the next meeting between representatives of SHCC and health department would be on held April 30, 2018 to devise finial strategy for registration of the health facilities in the city.
