JI announces ending ‘strike’
Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chapter early noon Friday announced ending its strike against Karachi-Electric (KE).
JI Karachi amir Hafiz Naeem and other leaders in a press conference said after Jumma prayers shopkeepers can open their markets and bazaars.
Earlier, Friday morning in a few parts of the city, some localities particularly in Malir and Orangi remained closed, while Shara-e-Fasial and some other roads were closed when activists staged sit-in on them. However, soon law enforcers dispersed them. A few activists were arrested and later released.
Overall, the city life remained normal and unaffected.
