Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chapter amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has expressed deep concern about the non-payment of 4month salary and other perks to the employees of Pakistan Steel Mill (PSM).
He expressed his views in a meeting with President National Labour Federation (NLF) Shams-ur-Rehman Sawati on Monday.
On the occasion, Sawati said that the government has not taken any serious step towards the improvement of national institutions, particularly PSM.
JI Karachi Chief urged government to make effective measures in order to run the national institutions under State ownership instead of selling out those institutions to private investors. “Authority concerned should take cohesive actions to resolve the issues of the employees,” he said.
He further hoped that newly appointed chairman PSM Major General (retd) Zaheer Ahmad will play his role in order to resolve the issues of the employees, adding that corruption and nepotism should be eliminated from the national institutions.
