KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to take effective steps in order ensure relief to the masses from inflation, after acquiring a hefty amount of US$1.50billion aid from brother Islamic country.
He further demanded that the government should decrease the petroleum prices by 10 per cent so that the prices of other basic commodities could be decreased.
Hafiz Naeem said that the people were still purchasing basic commodities including vegetables, rice, sugar, pulses, flour and others at very high rates, which was certainly reflected the miserable performance of the present government.
“According to the third quarters report of State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) which reveals the decrease in inflation and financial losses to the country, therefore; the government yet to take any step towards ensuring relief to the masses.
