JI protests against Karachi lawlessness

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chapter held a protest demo outside the Karachi Press Club (KPC), here on Tuesday against the targeted killings of JI workers, Abdur Razzaq, Qaiser Shamoon, Asghar Tanoli and other professionals including lawyers and doctors in the city.

Addressing the demo, JI Karachi amir Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman alleged that rulers were patronizing the criminal elements and PML-N government was equally responsible for this lawlessness in Karachi. He claimed 35000 youngsters have been killed during last 25 years in the city, adding that the killers of Wali Khan Baber, other journalists and policemen were roaming freely without the fear of arrest.

Hafiz Naeem asked the high officials of police and Rangers to reveal the identity of the apprehended target killers and other criminal elements. He demanded the Prime Minister to visit Karachi and review the ongoing targeted operation, as it is not proving fruitful for Karachiites.

Naib Ameer JI Karachi Nasrullah Khan Shajih, JI Karachi General Secretary Abdul Wahab, Naib Ameer Muslim Pervez, JI District East Ameer Younus Barai, former JI Karachi Chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, JI Information Secretary Zahid Askari and others were also present.
