KARACHI: Jamat-i-Islami (JI) Karachi on Sunday took out a rally from Mazar-e-Quaid to Tibet Centre to show solidarity with Gaza families whose dear ones were killed in Israeli bombardment.
Addressing the rally, JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said that people of Gaza were sacrificing their lives for safeguarding Al-Aqsa Mosque. “Entire Muslim World, including Pakistan, is staging protest against Israel and the United States who had partnered each other in killing Muslims across the world.”
He said that the Muslims and Arab Leadership across the globe had kept a criminal silence on Israeli aggression. He demanded of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League to end their silence over massacres in Gaza and take effective measures against this brutality.
He said that during the last decade, it was fourth time that Israeli forces bombarded Gaza, however, he praised Hamas and Gaza residents for giving stiff resistance to Israeli forces against the attacks despite having no effective defense equipment.
He said that the JI had played its role by taking out rallies and creating awareness among masses over Israel’s brutality.
JI Sindh Leader Dr Merajul Huda praised Portugal football player Christiano Ronaldo for not exchanging his shirt with Israeli player for his country’s involvement in atrocities against Palestinians. He also lauded Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for speaking against Israeli aggression and said that the government should raise this matter with UN and other Islamic bodies for action against Israel’s atrocities.
Several other JI leaders, including Birjes Ahmed, Usama Razi and Zahid Askari, also addressed the gathering which chanted slogans against Israel.
