JI supports indiscriminate operation in Karachi


Karachi: Acting chief of the Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has said that an indiscriminate action against criminals in Karachi was the need of the hour.

He was addressing an Awami Iftar party at Faran Club Gilshan e Iqbal, on Sunday evening.

Liaqat Baloch said that peace was the foremost requirement of the port city. He said that all the parties attending the APC had agreed at a target operation in the mega city and the MQM had been at the forefront to call for the army. He said that situation was improving in Karachi and the process should not be obstructed.

He also stressed the need for setting up a strong institution for the accountability of all and sundry.

A resolution adopted on the occasion called for legal action against the K. Electric, the Governor and Chief Minister of Sindh and the provincial government for around two thousand deaths in Karachi due to heat recently.

The JI acting chief said that it had been proved beyond doubt that RAW had a hand in the terrorist activities in the country. He stressed that the Kashmir issue should not be set aside in the talks with India.

Liaqat Baloch opposed fresh taxes on the traders and said the business community was already over- burdened by taxes. He however urged Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to withdraw the government appeal filed in the Supreme Court on the issue of interest in order to pave the way for an interest free economy in the country.

On the occasion, JI District East chapter amir Yunus Barai also spoke.
