Karachi: Sindh government issued directives on Monday for establishment of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for the investigation of Prof Dr Waheed-ur-Rehman’ murder case and sought its report in seven days.
Karachi University Teachers Association’ (KUTA) President Prof Dr Jamil Kazmi on Monday said that he was intimated by the Sindh government through official letter about forming a JIT for investigation in Rehman’s murder case.
Dr Kazmi said they were assured by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah in a meeting held few days ago that their three demands of making JIT, issuance Rs 30 million compensation to the bereaved family and disclosures of names of detained accused would be met soon.
He thanked the Sindh government for meeting one of their demands, JIT. He asked that their remaining two demands should soon be met.
