JSQM stages Freedom March, blames agencies for leaders killing

KARACHI: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) on Sunday staged a Freedom March from Gulshan-e-Hadeed to Tibet Centre, MA Jinnah road for safeguarding rights of Sindh.

Thousands of people carrying JSQM flags marched through National Highway, Shahrah-e-Faisal and other roads of the city. They raised slogans for rights of Sindh and against killers of JSQM leaders Maqsood Qureshi and his companion Salman Wadho.

The participants carrying bodies of two slain leaders staged sit-in at Tibet Centre and demanded justice. They also offered funeral prayers of their slain leaders. A large number of women and children also participated in the march.

Addressing the participants at Tibet Centre, Chairman JSQM Sanan Khan Qureshi said: “Sindh is the land of peace and love, and religious extremism has no affiliation with it but under a well planed conspiracy religious hatred and sectarianism are being spread in the province.” He said that people of Sindh would continue their peaceful struggle for rights and freedom.

He said that Punjab and state agencies were involved in the killing of Maqsood Qureshi and Salman Wadho so their murder cases should be lodged against them.

He said that Punjab was occupant on the resources of Sindh and under a conspiracy, nonlocal people were being settled in Sindh so that Sindhi people could be converted into minority on their own land.

He said: “Due to defective policies of state, extremism and terrorism are in peak in Pakistan today which has ruined reputation of Pakistan in the whole world and international community is calling Pakistan a threat for peace.”

He said that no one could divide Sindh as it was our motherland and mother could not be divided.

On this occasion, security was very high and a large number of police were deployed from Numaish to Tibet Centre, while roads and streets linked to MA Jinnah Road were blocked by placing containers.
