KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Sindh chapter will observe a ‘protection of blasphemy law, Tahfuz-e-Harmain Shareefain (protection of two Holy Mosques) and protection of seminaries’ rally on Friday on the eve of Labor Day.
This was informed by JUI Sindh General Secretary Allama Rashid Mehmood Soomro in a press conference held at Karachi Press Club on Wednesday.
He said the his party’s Central Chief Executive Committee had decided to stage the rally from Suhrab Goth to Chief Minister House, but on appeal of the CM not to come to the CM House, the committee would reconsider the decision.
Commenting of political scenario, Soomro said the conditions are deteriorating day by day. He said after the 18th amendment, religious schools and seminaries are being targeted. He said about 400 seminaries have been sealed in the interior Sindh.
He said the aim to hold the rallies is to condemn the blasphemous sketches of Prophet Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) published in France, protest for no against the murderers of Moulana Khalid Mehmood Soomro and to mark the first May and to condemn the injustice with workers.
Reminding last two rallies would be observed in Sukkur and Hyderabad. He said they gave ultimatum to Sindh government to ponder over their demands on various issues but the government showed its traditional indifference.
He demanded of the government to boycott the countries that backed the blasphemous sketches, end closure of seminaries, withdraw false FIRs against JUI-F workers and expose the murderers of Khalid Mehmood Soomro.
Maulana Abdur Rasheed Nomani, Maulana Ahsanullah Takarwi, Mufti Abdul Manam, Qari Mohammad Usman, Moulana Sabir Ashrafi were also present.
