K-IV project gets ground for starting

KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui has issued a notification pertaining to the allotment of 8,255 acres of land for K-IV project, a mega scheme of water, which could be a big news of the year for Karachiites.

“The allotment of land will prove a landmark for the mega project,” Siddiqui said while addressing a meeting at his office. Project Director K-IV Saleem Siddiqui, Additional Commissioner Karachi I Muhammed Aslam Khoso, Director Local Government Ms Rubina Asif and Assistan Commissioner Revenue Zulfiqar Abbasi were also present on the occasion.

PD K-IV told the meeting the project would start from Keenjhar Lake near Jhampir and through wide corridor of 1000 ft in Thatta, Kohistan, Runn Pathani Goth in Karachi division, Ghaggar Phatak, Dhando, Jhoreji, Deh Kotrio, Chohar, Deh Aleemano, Deh Kathore, Deh Nara Thar, Deh Shah Murid and would end at Deh Allah Fai.

“1000 ft corridor has been dispensed for the three phases of K-IV and other water lines for the future water provision to Karachi,” he said.

Siddiqui said achievement of declaration for the project under section 6 in less than two months was a big and historical success. He hoped that the officers of Karachi Sewerage and Water Board would execute speedy work on the project.
