KARACHI: A man suffering from Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) died at a private hospital on Saturday.
38-year-old Sabir son of Majeed, butcher by profession and resident of Cattle Colony Landhi area of Karachi was brought to the hospital for treatment a day before but could not survive.
Hospital sources said the patient had high fever and bleeding from mouth bleeding. Later, it was confirmed that he was infected with the Congo virus.
Director Health Karachi Dr Zafar Ejaz confirmed the death of the patient from Congo fever.
It was pertinent to mention here that Congo is deadly viral disease spread through bite of a tick found on animals. The people who deal with dairy farming and livestock are most likely to catch the disease.
