KARACHI: The Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Dr Majid Nizami, the most senior journalist of Pakistan and Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Nawa-e-Waqt Newspaper.
In a statement issued on Monday, Chairman Businessmen Group and former president KCCI Siraj Kassam Teli, Vice Chairmen BMG Tahir Khaliq, Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Farooki & Anjum Nisar, Acting President KCCI Muffasar Atta Malik, Vice President KCCI Muhammad Idrees and KCCI managing committee members, while recounting the contribution made by veteran journalist, said that Dr Nizami would always be remembered for his untiring efforts and exceptional services in the field of journalism.
The entire business community of Karachi was grieved and paid glowing tribute to Dr Nizami who worked tirelessly for the promotion and promotion of Nazria-e-Pakistan, they added.
Acting president KCCI Muffasar Atta Malik while highlighting the invaluable services of Dr Nizami, stated that a glorious and historic chapter of journalism had closed with the demise of Dr Nizami.
The newspaper industry has, undoubtedly, lost a staunch and consistent fighter for press freedom and democratic rights, Malik added.
BMG Leadership and KCCI office-bearers prayed to the Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family members and the entire Nawa-e-Waqt group to bear this irreparable loss.
