KARACHI:,,, Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday directed SP investigation (central) to ascertain the veracity of video tape regarding murder of Zeeshan, who was killed by Rangers personnel when he was in fight with his wife Shafiya at Nagan Chowrangi on February 28.
A division bench of SHC headed by Justice Sajjad Ali Shah was hearing a petition filed by Tasneem, sister of Zeeshan, who moved the court seeking the arrest of a Rangers soldier and Shafiya, in the murder case of her.
The bench observed that it was of tentative opinion with regard to crime as proper provision of law has not been incorporated in FIR. It directed SP investigation central to satisfy the court as to how the case was registered with charge of 319 (unintentional murder) of the PPC.
The case took new turn, when counsel for petitioner, apprised the court of a complete video tape of the incident available with him. However, SP investigation central said that neither he nor investigating officer of the case was aware of the video tape aired by a private TV channel.
The bench directed SP investigation to make all efforts to find out the truth and ascertain the veracity of video tape. The court directed him to produce the co-accused Shafia in court during hearing of the case in next hearing. The bench adjourned hearing till May 19.
The petitioner, Tasneem, submitted that Rangers personnel, Noor Rahim, and co-accused, Shafiya, were booked by the New Karachi police in a case relating to murder of her brother, Zeeshan, but the police was reluctant to arrest them.
She submitted that an additional district and sessions court had also ordered the inclusion of Section 302 (pre-meditated murder) of the PPC, but none of the accused have been arrested yet. The court was prayed to order the police to arrest Rangers’ personnel and Shafiya at the earliest.
