KARACHI: At least 13 PhD, 8 MPhil, 2MS and 4MD degrees have been awarded to scholars during the meeting of University of Karachi’s Board of Advance Studies and Research Studies (BASR) held on 16th November 2015.
The meeting was presided over by KU’s Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Qaiser.
The degrees among 1 MS, 8 M.Phil, 13 PhD, 1 MS (Master of Surgery) and 4 M.D ( Doctor of Medicine) were awarded. Students who were awarded the MPhil degree are Rabia Noor in Pharmaceutics, Hina Manzoor in English Linguistics, Mohammad Asim Khan in English Linguistics, M Shafiq ur Rehman in AERC, Syed Monis Jawed in AERC, Tabinda Salman in Molecular Medicine, Abdul Mateen in Education and Sarwat Shoukat in Pharmaceutics. M.S in Chemistry was awarded to Shahbaz Manzoor.
PhD degrees were awarded to Summiaya Rahim in Botany, Adil Abbas Khan in Physiology, Noor un Nisa Khan in Philosophy, Shujaat Abbas in Economics, Dr Tabassum Zehra(MBBS) in Pharmacology, Farina Hanif in Molecular Medicine, Naziya Zaki in Quran and Sunnah, Muhammad Arif in Pharmacology, Kashif Ali Safdar in Pharmaceutics, Mahwish in Applied Chemistry, Rizwana Razi in Chemistry, Jahan Ara in Arabic and Hasan in Arabic.
M.S ( Master of Surgery) degrees were awarded to Dr SM Qaiser Sajjad in ENT (ABSH) while MD ( Doctor of Medicine) degrees were awarded to Dr Ghazala Naeem in Cardiology (NICVD), Dr Mohammad Shaker Mohammad Al Zaza in Neurology (JPMC), Dr Abdul Latif in Neurology (JPMC) and Dr Hiba Mahmud in Neurology (JPMC).
