Malik, Sami called for Zimbabwe T20 series


Karachi: After Team Pakistan’s below par showing in limited over formats against Bangladesh, Pakistan selectors announced squad for the T20 series against visiting Zimbabwe with several changes.

Former skipper and all rounder Shoaib Malik has been called while seasoned pacer Mohammad Sami has also been included in the squad after their impressive performance in domestic cricket.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s former under-19 captain Imad Wasim and uncapped Nauman Anwar have received their maiden call-ups.

The two-match T20 series begins May 22 in Lahore, which will mark Pakistan’s first match in six years against a Test playing nation on home soil.

Pakistan squad: Shahid Afridi (captain), Sarfraz Ahmed (vice captain), Mohammad Hafeez, Mukhtar Ahmed, Nauman Anwar, Ahmed Shehzad, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Mohammad Rizwan, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami, Anwar Ali, Hammad Azam, Bilawal Bhatti and Ammad Wasim.
