Malir flyover to be completed before Ramazan

KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Saqib Ahmed Soomro on Thursday said repairing and patchwork of all the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) roads would be completed by 30th June, while one of the Malir flyovers would be completed within 20 days and opened for public transport before arrival of Ramazan.

Campaign for wiping out stray dogs has been started, while storm water drains would be cleaned before monsoon he said while talking at the occasion of open kathehri at his office in Civic Center.

He said repairing and patchwork of roads had been started on fast pace in all the six districts on 28 KMC arteries and it would be completed before 30th June.

Work on both the Malir flyovers is continued which was delayed due to lack of funds, however now the work is on its last stages and one flyover would be completed within 20 days. Work on Lyari Expressway is also continued and would hopefully soon be completed he said.

He said on receiving large number of complaints against stray dogs KMC has bought enough quantity of medicines and handed over to district municipal corporations for killing stray dogs. The medicines would be provided more on requirement.

Anti-stray dog campaign has been started in Orangi Town, Baldia Town, Bath Island and other areas and would be carried out in every part of the city he said.
