KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Monday awarded death sentence to a suspect in station house officer (SHO) murder case. The accused Nazakat Ali was found guilty of killing Aga Asadullah Khan SHO within the remits of Preedy police station on 9th April 2013.
The judge of the ATC-III pronounced the verdict after recording evidence of witnesses and final arguments from both sides.
Accuse was awarded death sentence in murder case. The court also imposed Rs500000 and in case of default he would have to undergo an additional two-year imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Asadullah was killed by his gunman, Nazakat, in the remits of Preedy police station on 9th April 2013. Five bullets were recovered from his possession and forensic reports show that a bullet was matched with bullets of gunman, which was found in the body of victim.
A case (FIR 134/2013) was registered against the accused under 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act at the Preedy police station.
