Man gets life term for molesting minor girl


KARACHI: An Additional District & Sessions Court awarded a life-imprisonment with a fine of Rs 50,000 to a convict, Tahir, for molesting a six-year old girl.

The Additional District & Sessions Court East found Tahir guilty of sexually assaulting the minor girl. The judge pronounced the verdict after recording the witnesses’ statements, evidences and hearing arguments from both sides.

The case was registered on 11th October 2011 when six-year old girl complained to her family about some problem, who took her to doctor. Later, she revealed that a man took her to the roof near a seminary and subjected her to a sexual assault.

The police arrested the suspect, Tahir and the girl identified him.

During the trial Tahir denied the charges labeled against him and pleaded himself innocence. However, the medical report of the victim proved her stance.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on the accused who will have to undergo an additional three-month-term if he fails to pay the fine.

The court also extended the benefit of section 382-B of CrPc to the convict which means his imprisonment would be count from the day of his arrest.

The case was registered at Zaman Town police station under section 376 (Punishment for rape) of Pakistan Penal Code.
