Mayor launches mobile van service, medical camp
KARACHI:Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar on Sunday launched a mobile van service and a free medical camp in Karachi to provide health relief to the deserving people who could not afford fees for medical tests and treatment in this price hike era.
The camp and mobile van service were arranged by Qaiser Imtiaz, Chairman, UC 26, District South, Karachi, at Muhammad Bin Qasim Road side near SM Law College. The general physicians and other medical staff conducted tests of blood sugar, calcium and other diseases. They provided medicines, glasses and glucose meter free of cost.
The mobile van has been launched for the welfare of residents of UC 26, South District, Karachi. It will be utilized for free mobile dispensary, fumigation and collection of birth, death and nikah registration forms.
Mayor Karachi visited each facility centre and appreciated the efforts of Imtiaz and his team. More free medical camps would be arranged for the welfare of the poor people, he added.
About 800 to 1000 people were examined and treatment was also provided to them at the camp. Waseem distributed shields and certificates of participation among the doctors and paramedics.
