KARACHI: Spokesperson National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sindh Qudsia Kadri on Thursday said it was being portrayed in media as if some raid had been conducted in Arts Council of Pakistan (ACP), however the ground facts were different.
“It was no raid. It was just a pre-inquiry record-check on the basis of complaints. A raid cannot be conducted without Executive Board Meeting’s decision, which could take place after three months of inquiry. However, the NAB officials visit to ACP was not even an inquiry, more such visits are expected,” she told PPI.
Atleast five hundred complaints in pending and every now and then they were doing their work in different departments and organizations.
In a detailed discussion with Director ACP Nadeem Zafar his stress was on ‘they could not find anything’ rather than there was no corruption in the organization. He confirmed that NAB officials had arrived in ACP to check accounts record and they could not find anything suspicious, so they left without taking any file or other material.
