KARACHI: Parts of Karachi started shutting down hours after the body of a Muttahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker was found in Mowach Goth on Wednesday. In the meantime, MQM announced a day of mourning on Thursday.
Sohail Ahmed, the in-charge of MQM sector unit 64 in Bahadurabad, was allegedly abducted by plain-clothed personnel of law enforcement agencies on 16th December 2014.

He said that the number of extra-judicial killings of MQM workers had reached 36.
MQM leader Khawaja Izhar ul Hassan said: “We request from army chief, prime minister and interior minister to kindly take action against the people involved in extrajudicial killings of our party workers. We have raised the issue in provincial assembly, national assembly and senate but of no avail.”
He said Sohail Ahmed was a very religious and peace-loving person.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ahmed expressed deep grief over the murder of MQM worker and asked IGP Sind and DG Rangers Sindh to present report about the incident.
