MRI, C-Arm not functioning at JPMC

KARACHI: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and C-Arm machine have been not functioning due to technical faults at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC), causing grave inconvenience to patients, it was learned on Monday.

The MRI machine Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center has been not functioning for several days due to some fault which has increased the miseries patients. The patients with psychological & neurological diseases and bones problems have been left on the mercy on costly private laboratories.

An official of JPMC told PPI that MRI machine was lying out of order for last several days, causing grave inconvenience for patients. He said there are two MRI machines in hospital out of which only one is working while other was lying out of order owing to some fault. The administration has compelled to postpone the diagnostic tests of brain, spinal cord, and bones problems due to fault.

While C-Arm machine of Neurosurgery Department, JPMC, has also not functioning due to some technical fault. The machine helps to diagnose cervical spine and disc problems. The patients with cervical spine and disc problems have been facing difficulties.

Focal Person, JPMC, Dr Jawaid Akhter Jamali, was not available for comments on phone despite several attempts.
