KARACHI: An international first book was published in Pakistan which gives a scholarly and intellectual case study with regards to the multi-stakeholder approach and conflict prevention techniques for the conflict in Karachi.
A book titled “ Challenge of Conflict Prevention in Pakistan: A Case Study of Karachi” has been published by Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Prof Dr Moonis Ahmar under the Program on Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Department of International Relations, University of Karachi.
This was informed by Dr Ahmar while talking to PPI. He said the book consists of research and scholarly work of various internationally reputed scholars on the subject of conflict, conflict prevention and multi-stakeholder approach.
Scholars including Dr. Peter van Tuijl, Ms. Maria Saifuddin Effendi, Dr. Najam Abbas, Dr. Arshi Saleem Hashmi, Dr. Naeem Ahmed, Ms. Nargis Rehman and Dr. Bernadette L. Dean contributed to this book while the Royal Book Company is the sole seller/distributer of the book in Pakistan and outside Pakistan.
He said that no conflict could be resolved and prevented without the involvement of concerned stakeholders. It is hoped that this volume will be a valuable addition to the current prevailing conflicting situation in Karachi.
