KARACHI: An Anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday remanded an accused, Syed Ishtaiq Ali to police custody till 30th December 2014 in murder case.
Police produced the accused before the ATC judge under tight security in murder, attempt to murder and police encounter cases. The investigation officer requested the court to allow the physical remand of the accused as the police wanted to map out his connections and his absconding accomplices Faisal and Mudassir in the crime. The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to police custody 30th December.
According to Prosecution, accused was involved in killing of Gulab Khan on 29 July 2010 within the jurisdiction of Shareefabad police station. Police party followed accused and arrested him after an encounter conducted on 17 December 2014.
A case FIR was registered at Shareefabad police station under section 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempt to murder) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty)of the Pakistan Penal Code read with Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
