Murder accused remanded to police till Jan 17

Karachi: An Anti-Terrorism Court ( ATC) On Saturday remanded an accused Rameez Shaikh, to police custody till 17 January 2015 in murder case of political worker. Police produced the accused before the ATC judge amid tight security. Investigation officer requested the court that police needed his physical custody to trace his connections and map out the where about of his absconding accomplices, Tauseef, Waqara and Arif.

The court accepted the police request and remanded the accused to their custody to their custody for 14 days.

According to prosecution, the accused with his accomplices involved in killing of PPP worker Najeeb-ur-Rehman. The accused allegedly belonged to a political party and earlier he was in the ranger’s custody for 90 days.

A case FIR 33/14 was registered at Pirabad police station under section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code read with the Anti-Terrorism act, 1997.
