KARACHI: Nabi Bux police have claimed arresting eight criminals and recovering arms from their possession during two encounters.
According to police report on Thursday, SSP Sheraz Nazir gave an special task to SHO Nabi Bux police along with police party to foil the terrorism plan. Acting on a tip-off, Nabi Bux police raid the area near Garden Telephone Exchange, where they had encounter with criminals.
The police arrested two alleged terrorists, Mohammmad Umar alias Shani and and Mohammad Kashif alias Piri, and recovered two hand grenades, two pistols, some rounds and looted goods from their possession.
Police claimed that the accused had confessed to their involvement in different criminal activities.
In another encounter, Nabi Bux police arrested six alleged street criminals belonging to three gangs. They detainees were identified as Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Waqar alias Dada, Owais, Junaid Baghdadi alias Guddu, and Imran, who were arrested from Garden Road area and other two locations. The police also recovered six pistols, 30 rounds and other looted goods from their possession.
