Karachi: The National Bank Football Challenge Cup begins today (Tuesday) here at KPT and KMC Football Stadiums. Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) is organizing this tournament. “National Bank has always supported sports events in the country and this is one of the many tournaments NBP has been organizing. We are hopeful that the tournament will be organized in a befitting manner,” Iqbal Qasim, a former Test cricketer and EVP NBP told reporters on Monday.
Top 12 teams of the country, namely, KRL, KESC, WAPDA, PAF, PIA, KPT, NBP, HBL, Navy, PACA, HEC and Police will be seen in action during the tournament.
The tournament offers Rs 250000 for victors, Rs 150000 to runner-ups and Rs 50000 for the victors of third place play-off encounter. NBP is the defending champion of the tournament. NBP won the last edition of the event last year in Bahawalpur. The tournament is scheduled to conclude on April 4.
