New appointments soon to strengthen probe: prosecution: IGP


KARACHI: Inspector General of Police Sindh Iqbal Mehmood on Saturday said that 200 investigation inspectors and 200 prosecution inspectors would be appointed in Sindh police for investigations of cases and dealing with proceeding in courts.

The process of appointments would be completed soon under Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC): said IGP while visiting S.I.T.E Association Office.

IGP meet with Chairman S.I.T.E Association Younas Bashir and other members of association who apprised him of their problems: particularly security and traffic issues.

IGP said that security measures were being taken to protect the life and property of citizens. He said that effective investigation is also being carried out in FIRs.

Iqbal Mehmood said that necessary steps would be taken about reforms in police department for their capacity-building and removing potential weaknesses. He said that steps were also being taken purge black sheep from police department. He said police helpline Madadgar 15 would be made more efficient.

IGP emphasizing the importance of community policing said that for controlling crime police and public should have to work together. He announced posting of a DSP rank officer as liaison officer in SITE area to facilitate traders.
