Nine underage Chingchi drivers fined, jailed


KARACHI: Nine underage Chingchi rickshaw drivers fined and jailed in an operation against underage boys driving the rickshaws illegally and putting lives of passengers at risk.

Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui on Wednesday said young drivers were offending law and playing with the lives of passengers.

He said while addressing a meeting at his office with Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate Jamshed Quarters Muhammed Arif Kalhoro.

Kalhoro briefed the commissioner about crackdown carried against teenage drivers in the city.

Siddiqui vowed drive against underage drivers would be continued in the city. He also appealed from citizens to avoid travelling with such adolescent drivers.
