KARACHI: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has decided that some of its essential service departments would remain open during Eid-Ul-Fitr’ holidays.
The departments including health and hospitals, works and services, fire brigade, parks and local tax will remain open so as to tackle any unwanted situation in the city during these public-holidays. The respective departments’ chiefs have also been directed that not to go out of station without official permission.
These directives were issued by Karachi Administrator and Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui while presiding over a high-level meeting held at his office regarding Eid-Ul-Fitr arrangements.
He said it will be the job of officers concerned to divide shifts among the employees. He said it is very important to keep open these departments as to avoid any emergency situation and it would be prohibited for officers of these departments to leave the city during the Eid holidays.
