KARACHI: The shortage of medicine have been continuing in Sobhraj Maternity Hospital run by Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) as KMC administration has miserably failed to supply the required quota of drugs to the institution, sources at Sobhraj Hospital told PPI on Monday.
They said there is an acute shortage of life-saving medicines in the hospital as KMC management is not providing the required drugs to Sindh largest maternity-care facility since long.
They said even drugs and syringes are not available in the emergency department of the healthcare and patients with maternity emergency are left with no other option but to purchase medicine from private medical stores. They said that over 500 patients visit the Outpatient Departments of the hospital on daily basis.
Senior Director Health & Medical Services Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Dr Salma Kausar Ali said supply of drugs is improving day by day in all KMC run healthcares. She hoped that situation would be further improved in coming months.
