Now shortage of wheat flour in Sindh: minister


KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has said that first time in the history of Sindh, the price of wheat flour were lower than in Punjab, adding the procurement process of wheat at government level here is simple and transparent.

He said that there was no dearth of wheat flour all over Sindh including Hyderabad. Sindh Food Debarment had provided 5 lac 23 thousand and 450 wheat bags to chakkis in Hyderabad district and 5 lac 31 thousand and 840 bags to flour mills of Hyderabad.

Dahar added Sindh government gave subsidy of Rs.216 for each 100 kg wheat bag. In the market the flour has been available from Rs.41 per kg to Rs. 42 per kg, while ex-mill price was Rs.39.50 and retail price was Rs.40.50 per kg.
