One killed, eight injured in city

KARACHI: One person was killed and eight others injured in different violence incidents in the metropolis on Tuesday.

A man, Khurram alias Pathan, 35, son of Mairaj, was killed and one, Sohail, injured when unknown assailants opened firing on their car at Haidry in North Nazimabad. The body and injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

According to police, both belonged to Muttahida Qomi Movement (MQM) Unit-166.

A man, Atif, 30, son of Mohammad Mateen, was injured to bullets while resisting when armed dacoits entered into his home near Edhi Center in Sohrab Goth. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

A youth, Irfan, 25, son of Shaukat, was injured by unidentified gunmen near Taj School, Sector-D, Korangi Crossing. He was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for treatment.

Faisal, 36, son of Shamim, was shot and injured by unknown armed men in Block 1 Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

Four persons, Nazir, 27, son of Gul Mohammad; Lal Gul, 45, son of Noor Mohammad; Shahid, 40, son of Abdul Majeed; and Manzoor, aged about , 30, were injured in a clash between two groups in Khamiso Goth near Bashir Chowk in New Karachi. They were brought to ASH for treatment.

Three motorcycles also set to fire and panic spread due to aireal firing. Police reached on the scene and control the mob. It is said that the main reason behind this clash was water issue.
