One killed, six injured in Karachi violence

KARACHI: One person was killed and six others were injured, including a woman, in separate violence incidents in the metropolis on Tuesday.

According to rescue sources, a youth, Amir, 25, was killed during a police encounter in Baldia town. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy.

Separately, a teenager girl, Lal Pari, 18, daughter of Aftab, a resident of Keamari, was shot and critical injured at her house in Street No.4, Gulshan-e-Sikandar area. She was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JMPC) for treatment.

In another incident, Mumtaz, 30, son of Abdul Shakoor, a resident of North Karachi, and Majid, 22, son of Mohammad Akram, a resident of Orangi Town, were shot and injured in a police encounter near Bilquis Shaheed Square, Farid Colony in Orangi town. They were brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment.

Hamza, 17, son of Khalil; Iqbal, 25, son of Ghulam; and Asfar, 19, son of Nadeem, were shot and injured by unknown armed men dacoits when they offered resistance to them near 3-D Street, Shahabuddin Market in Saddar. The bike riding dacoits fled before police reached there. The injured were shifted to JMPC for treatment.
