Pak forex reserves crosses $15bn mark

KARACHI: State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Thursday said the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$15,019.8 million on 16January2015.The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 10,330.5 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by banks : US$ 4,689.3 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves : US$ 15,019.8 million

During the week ending 16January2015, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$34 million to US$10,331 million compared to US$10,365 million in the previous week.

During the week SBP made payments of US$57 million on account of external debt servicing and other official payments. No major inflow was recorded during the week under consideration.
