Karachi: Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) will send Pakistan junior girls netball team to participate in 9th Asian Youth Netball Championship 2015 to be held in Hong Kong from December 14 to 20.
A total of 12 teams are participating in the said tournament. Apart from Pakistan and host Hong Kong, teams of Singapore, Sri Lanka, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, India, Brunei, Thailand, Chinese Taipei and UAE will also be seen in action.
Singapore is the defending champion of the tournament. Pakistan has been placed in Group ‘D’ and will play its first match against Hong Kong on December 14. It is scheduled to play its second match against Thailand on December 16.
Pakistan junior girls training camp is underway here at PSB Coaching Centre. The team is scheduled to leave for Hong Kong on December 12.
“We have requested Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) and Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) for NOC and a grant of Rs 3.5 million funds for participation in the tournament,” Mudassir Arian, Secretary PNF said on Thursday.
“I am hopeful that the NOC and required funds will be released soon. PNF is in continuous coordination with PSB and IPC in this regard,” he added.
