Paramedics boycott OPDs

Karachi: Paramedical Staff of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (AS) on Saturday boycotted the Outpatient Departments (OPDs) of hospital against killing of their colleague.

A large number of patients who reached the hospital from different areas of city suffered lot as OPD medical services were not offered at the hospital over the boycott of paramedics.

The protesting employees said paramedical employee of hospital, Moinuddin, was gunned down other day and no any arrest was made by the police. They warned that if the killers of Moinuddin were not arrested they will completely shut down the hospital and provincial governmental would be held responsible for it.

Additional Medical Superintendent (AMS) ASH Dr Muhammad Najmuddin told PPI that many doctors and paramedical staff had been killed in last few years and the government should provide protection to medical professionals.
